For years I had two separate business identities. Michelle the Digital Marketing wore blazers and talked about ROI and conversion rates. Michelle the Crystal Reiki Master and Spiritual Podcaster who wore flowing clothes and talked about energy alignment and healing frequencies. I kept them completely separate because I was terrified that admitting I worked with crystals would make my marketing clients think I was too ‘woo-woo’ to handle their serious business needs.
My Breaking Point
For months, I was running on empty. My digital business felt like I was swimming upstream. I felt I was forcing strategies that worked for others, following advice that felt wrong in my gut, trying to be the “professional marketer” everyone expected me to be.
I was burned out, uninspired, and honestly questioning if I was cut out for this business. My content felt flat. My clients were fine, great even, but nothing felt exciting to me. I kept thinking there had to be a better way, but I couldn’t figure out what was missing.
Then I had a conversation that changed everything. As I talked through my frustrations, I realized I’d been hiding the most authentic part of myself, my Crystal Reiki practice. I was treating it like a secret hobby instead of recognizing it as my superpower.
The moment I admitted I was a Crystal Reiki Master and teacher who has a whole podcast, who is passionate about holistic healing and being intuitive, who also happened to be brilliant at digital strategy, everything clicked. I wasn’t just another digital voice, I was someone who could bridge two worlds that desperately needed each other.
In that instant, I realized I’d been doing exactly what I tell my clients NOT to do: hiding my authentic self and trying to fit into someone else’s box. The exhaustion wasn’t from the work but from me hiding half of myself.
The “Aha” Moment

Sitting there, I had this lightning bolt moment: I was telling my clients to ‘be authentic online’ while hiding half of who I was. How could I help them show up fully when I wasn’t doing it myself?
I realized I was only using half of my abilities, not trusting my own intuition and leaning on it, especially with my own business. The irony hit me hard, how could I feel in alignment with my own business while modeling the exact opposite of what I preach.
My best superpower is the ability to sense when something feels energetically wrong and helping people find their authentic voice. I was locking that away because I was afraid it would make me seem less ‘professional’.
That’s when I knew something had to change. I couldn’t help others be authentic while hiding my own authenticity. It was time to bring my whole self to my business.
The Shift
The moment I decided to integrate both sides of myself, everything has changed. I stopped hiding my Crystal Reiki practice and started leading with it as my superpower. Instead of apologizing for understanding energy, I embraced it as exactly what spiritual entrepreneurs need.
My content is more authentic now and I finally feel excited about work again because I am showing up as my whole self.
What I Learned
Your business thrives when you stop fighting again your nature and start working with it. The parts of yourself you’re afraid of to show are often the exact parts that make you irreplaceable.
If you’re a spiritual entrepreneur trying to fit into traditional marketing boxes, I see you. I’ve been there. And I’m here to tell you there is a better way.
Ready to Stop Hiding
Marketing or growing your spiritual business doesn’t have to feel icky or inauthentic. In my next post, I’ll share exactly why traditional business advice feels so terrible for spiritual entrepreneurs and the 5 Sacred Marketing Principles that actually work.
